In memory of my beautiful wife and mother of our son Phillip, Wendy Heptinstall who died peacefully at St Leonards Hospice on Thursday 4th June 2020 after a brave fight with cancer.
As well as her wider family she will be missed by everyone who knew her, and that was most of York.
In these times it is not possible for everyone to attend the funeral and in place of this we would ask that people who wish too could donate to St Leonards in her memory through this tribute page.
Wendy's final days were spent at the hospice as she wished, where she was looked after exceptionally well by all the staff and volunteers there. Wendy had fundraised tirelessly for the hospice for the last ten years or more and enjoyed a close relationship with the team.
It would be lovely if you could leave a memory of your relationship with Wendy to comfort us at this sad time and be sure that every penny raised will help this fantastic organisation carry on the never ending task of supporting families through their toughest times allowing others to receive the fabulous care and support that Wendy experienced.
This donation is on behalf of me and mum. Money raised by us (slimming and selling).
Auntie Wendy you are such a special person and loved so much by so many. We will miss you always. We are so thankful for the close relationship we had and will treasure all the memories of the good times we've had together. Love you lots Dollybird. Christina, Simon, Matthew & Lauren x
I first met Wendy when I had the privilege of teaching Phillip when he was 5 (he was very cute), she was such a lovely mum. When I took classes on Wendy's Farm to Fork visits, she was brilliant - so lovely with the children and very organised. The children and the staff loved these visits. It was always a pleasure to meet Wendy in or out of work and have a chat. Wendy has touched so many lives in such positive ways.
